Why Most Startups In Pakistan Do Not Succeed.

There is no shortage of emerging businesses in silicon valley. Every year some tiny startup converts into a big company since the dawn of the 20th century. Whether we talk about restaurants like MacDonald or multinational technology companies like Amazon. Despite having potential and a younger Population in Pakistan than the USA and the UK, still, one question baffle every pundit who keeps a close eye on the performance of emerging startups from all over the world. One thinks about why the success rate of startups in the west, in particular, the USA And the UK is way higher than in Pakistan.

Pakistan has an amazing talent pool. In the world of freelancing, Pakistan ranked at no 4, the highest in Asia. Yet a big startup doesn’t emerge from this country.

What’s the reason?

One reason that is very evident, in business startups, the budding businessman so much quoted inside out with their mentor’s wisdom, exposure, expertise, and supervision that the aspiring entrepreneurs can’t unleash their true potential. By the way here are some hot opportunities to invest in Pakistan.

Instead, we should do this:

“Let them explore the true reality of Entrepreneurship. Let them spread and test their wings. Let them take a dive in deep waters. Let them fly high and experience new horizons. Let them test their own strengths. Let them be their own self”.

“So” we don’t need to tell them they are the best because they ended up being selected and incubating at your place out of hundreds of thousands of applications. Rather, we should allow them to find their own ways. We should ask them to look out and catch the fish, take their first flight, and elevate a deep dive from a height to discover their true worth.

You hold their fingers and feed them, you install your own perspective by telling them how it should be over finding out by their own practice and self-reliance. By giving too much, pampering and exposure don’t allow them to reach their actual potential.

What’s the solution then?

I think we should guide them about marketing and outreach, and we should them the layout of the work and should they go about their operations. Allow them to come and tell the stumbling blocks, obstacles they are facing and then give them a solution.

But before that, sit back and see what they can do just like an old master who trains a champ. Eventually, it’s the conqueror who has to prove their spirit out there to the world

“Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Our chief want in life, is someone who shall make us do what we can. This is the service of a friend. With him, we are easily great.”.

Another viewpoint:

Another reason for the failures of startups in Pakistan is because of an alien idea influenced and picked from the west but aimed to succeed in a local market.

Nobody takes the notice of the fact that we (the desi) have a distinguished set of problems and solutions should be served., towards our very own “desi” problems.

Copying and pasting a victorious idea from Silicon Valley is not going to work in Pakistan.

According to my consideration that is a real problem of these fancy four walls, chilled AC room startups where folks converse all day in “yo man” accent as motivated from western but they want to do business Pakistan and sell to natives.

In order to be successful, you have to think like a desi person, you have to go big and test your wings. You could be the next big idea to make an appearance in your nation and become an inspiration for others to follow.

I hope this post offers you a lot of awareness into how the new, and emerging startups fail to surface all the way to the top and become victorious.
